Dear Jesse Lee families,
We are so happy to welcome you to Jesse Lee Memorial United Methodist Church and to have your children take part in our Sunday school program. I, along with our Children’s Ministry staff, dedicated teachers and volunteers, are all looking forward to getting to know you and helping make your child’s spiritual education experience meaningful and lasting. For our returning families, welcome back!
We welcome kids into a safe environment with wonderful, caring adults that love to teach and have fun. Adult and youth led small groups, lessons, crafts, and games are just a part of the Sunday morning experience. Beyond Sunday mornings, we offer children and families a chance to take part in special events and community service projects throughout the year. This fall, we will be helping in the Jesse Lee pumpkin patch, walking in support of women and children in need, making bag lunches for the Dorothy Day House and assisting with the church Christmas gift drive. At Jesse Lee we teach kids that they can make a difference and give them many opportunities to spread joy and care to others.
I recently came on board as Jesse Lee’s new director of Children’s Ministry. I feel truly blessed to be chosen to take on this important role at our church. For the last 10 years I have been raising my own young children, both of whom are actively involved in Jesse Lee’s wonderful programs including Sunday school, junior choir, S.H.O.C.K., Vacation Bible School and more. I have truly enjoyed watching them grow in the church and I am so happy to shepherd them and other little ones in my new role.
Please take a look around our site to learn more about our programs and special events. We are planning some new and exciting programs for the upcoming fall season and hope you will take part. I also encourage you to contact me with questions and invite you to share with me any family joys or concerns that may come up over time. I enjoy getting to know our families and am ready to offer support when needs arise.
