…. building an orphanage in Mozambique one brick at a time for 48 children
Children have always been significant to God. Children are the future of God’s creation. We know Jesus encouraged the children to approach him. He ministered to the needs of children and demonstrated his love for them. Both Old and New Testament verses tell believers to care for both widows and orphans. Jesse Lee’s Outreach Commission, members of the congregation and those in the greater Ridgefield community have raised funds to complete an orphanage in Dondo, a suburb of Berea, Mozambique. Let us continue the work we have begun by continuing to support the work of Foundation 4 Orphans.
These orphaned children are as playful as our children. They have the same needs for love, shelter, food, safety and hope as our children
Thank you all for helping our group raise the funds needed to build this orphanage. We have collected over $98,000. Once the rainy season is over, building will resume.
Our goal has been and continues to be to provide funds to build safe shelter and a nurturing environment for 48 orphans. Foundation 4 Orphans (F4O) is coordinating the distribution of funds and overseeing the construction of the orphanage buildings and renovation of another orphanage in Mozambique damaged by a hurricane. We still have note cards featuring four of Jesse Lee’s lovely stained glass window panels. The photographs on the notecards were taken by the talented Chris Anderson. If you would like to purchase a set of 8 notecards, contact Carole Stathis. Funds will support our relationship building with the Dondo orphans.
“Thank you again for your prayers, your support and enthusiasm. We have changed the lives of not only 48 children who will be moving in soon, but to all those whom will follow in the coming years, as well as the Mozambique leaders, church over there, the Jesse Lee church and those of you who have contributed to this effort. A win/win everywhere.“ - Wayne Lavender
